This picture of the Wellnesshall of Hunguest Hotel****Béke Hajdúszoboszló (rebuilding was ready May 2010) has been featured in Heti Válasz last week without credit of architect and without name of the project. The article is talking about the hungarian hotel industry illustrated also with an other picture of an other Hotel without designer credits, that is way because the redaers can belive it's a same building.

Here we are adding the credits: the Architect of the old building was Dezső Dúl, the inner rebuilding was made by Ferdinand and Ferdinand Architects.

Ez a kép jelent meg az elmúlt héten a Heti Válasz című újságban a hajdúszoboszlói Hunguest Hotel****Béke medenceteréről(az átépítés 2010 májusában lett kész) a helyszín és a tervezők névfeltüntetése nélkül. A cikk a magyar szállodaiparról szól és egy másik szálloda homlokzati fotójával is illusztrálták úgy, hogy az olvasó azt hiheti, hogy a két épület ugyanaz kívülről és belülről.

Who does know, what has happened with the official site of the Chamber of Hungarian Architects? You can load every page down, but there is no more any information. Everything is white and empty. Of course also they should have some holiday, but why to make clean the website? It's very strange............... Fortunatelly the site of the Budapest's Chamber is working.

Ki tudja, hogy mi történhetett a Magyar Építész Kamara hivatalos honlapjával? Minden oldala letölthető, de nincsenek információk rajta. Minden fehér és üres. Természetesen nekik is szükségük van nyaralásra, de miért ürítették le a teljes oldalt? Nagyon furcsa.................. Szerencsére a Budapesti Kamara lapj működik. F.Á.

We are working on brand new website of our company. Till end of next week should we be ready. The main work is in the hands of macdroog, thanks to him. Our recent site will stay available as archiv (hungarian), but the new one can be read only english. Here we present a work version of the starting page. Should it be launched, we will post about it.

The Ferdinand brothers have received several international acknowledgement during the last few months.

M.K.:What is your goal or objective with your blog? To make yourself and your webpage better known?
F.F.:Our objective was to make our statical homepage more dynamic with 2-3 posts a week about our studio's everyday work, this was supplemented with arch-interviews made with foreign architects. The posts' topics are sometimes independent from us, but they are always related to architecture.
 

M.K.:Who or what suggested that you should start a blog?
F.F.:It was a bit annoying, that it was difficult to refresh our home page, that was why we have started the blog as an attachment to the home page.
 

M.K.:How many post do you make a month?
F.F.:10-12 per month, however these are not all posts, some of them are merely announcements related to our projects.
 

M.K.:What are your favorite topics and what post types are the most popular?
F.F.:We don't have any pre-defined topics, and so far we have no feedback whatsoever, we are afraid, that we have no such thing as "our most popular topic".
 

M.K.:Are you posting only about your projects or also about other's?
F.F.:We have started introducing less known, foreign architects. This series has been started with californian studios, later we plan to present Austrian and German architects, too.
 

M.K.:How many visitors and comments do you have a month?
F.F.:Not a lot.
 

M.K.:What is your opinion about reaching out to the public with the help of a blog? Did you get better known, or do you feel an increased trust toward you?
F.F.:We have no feedback.
 

M.K.:Do you select the topics yourself or sometimes do you get ideas from others?
F.F.:We choose them ourselves, but we welcome any new recommandations.
 

M.K.:How much time do you spend with maintaining the blog?
F.F.:15 minutes avery day, or every second day, without calculating the time we need in our mind.
 

M.K.:Do you have connection to other bloggers?
F.F.:No, we are flying in the space without controll, faraway from inhabited landscape.
 

M.K.:What is your favorite Hungarian architecture/ design/ green blog?
F.F.:epiteszforum.hu
 

M.K.:Do you have an another blog, too?
F.F.:No, but we may get one automatically on worldarchitecture.org-on.
 

M.K.:Can we find you in the community media (Twitter, Facebook)?
F.F.:We created a profile on Facebook a few days ago.
 

M.K.:How important do you think is the presence on it?
F.F.:So far we are a little bit sceptic.
 

M.K.:And at last what is your message to the readers?
F.F.:Maybe it is surprise, but our message isn't talking about architecture but everybody should take care about his or her own body: do not smoke and drink too much, because 10 years from now they will regret it, nobody should destroy him or herself, because everybody is an irreplaceable value.

Arch. DI Alfred Bramberger ist der Gründer, Inhaber und Leiter der Bramberger Architects in Graz. Es freut mich sehr ihn bezüglich Architektur fragen zu können. Hier füge ich zwei webcams von zwei der jüngsten Baustellen von ihm: Bürohaus am Nikolaiplatz und Bürohaus Saubermacher beim Flughafen Graz.

Alfred Bramberger (* 1954) quelle:  nextroom.at
Studium an der TU Graz (Diplom 1983). 1978 zählte er zu den Preisträgern beim Internationalen UIA-Wettbewerb in Mexico-City, er arbeitete in verschiedenen Architekturbüros in Graz und Linz, 1983-88 war er Mitarbeiter von Volker Giencke. Seit 1988 führt er sein eigenes Büro.

Wichtige Realisierungen in Graz: 1989-93 Umbau und Generalsanierung des Landessportzentrums und 1990-92 Um- und Neubau der Landessportabteilung, 1991-92 Neugestaltung des Tummelplatzes, 1994-97 Studentenheim Moserhofgasse. 1994-96 wurde das Headquarter der Toko-Bank in Moskau realisiert, zahlreiche weitere Bauten.

F.A.: Es gab einmal, anfang der 90-er Jahre, der sogenannte "Grazer Schule". Gab es sie wirklich?
Alfred Bramberger: Ja die gab es und zwar als ein sehr geschickt gewählter Begriff, den Prof. Dimitriou (Prof. für Kunstgeschichte an der TU Graz) für die Gruppenausstellung „Architektur Investitionen“ 1984 im Forum Stadtpark in Graz geprägt hat und den Begriff für eine bestimmte Gruppe von Architekten und deren heterogene und sehr differenzierte Herangehensweise an Architektur geprägt hat. Dieser Begriff hat sich bis in die 90-er Jahre etabliert und war offen gestanden ganz gut brauchbar für eine breitere Wahrnehmung der Leistungen dieser Architekten im In- und Ausland. Heute würde man das „Marketingstrategie“ bezeichnen.
F.A.Verwendet man heute noch diesen Begriff?
Alfred Bramberger: In meiner Wahrnehmung hat sich heute eher der Begriff der „steirischen Architektur“ etabliert, der greift etwas weiter, auch regional, und passt sich eher dem international gebräuchlichen Regionalismus Begriff an. Viele junge Architekten wollen aber nur international wahrgenommen werden und können mit diesen Kategorisierungen gar nichts mehr anfangen, sie wollen sich nicht einordnen lassen.
F.A.:Hat man ihre Arbeiten jemals richtig/falsch oder überhaupt eingeordnet/eingestuft?
Alfred Bramberger: Man muss dazu das Vorwort von Prof. Dimitriou lesen, dann kann man gewisse Arbeiten dem Begriff Grazer Schule durchaus zuordnen, eine akademische Übung, aber es funktioniert. Jede geschichtliche Aufarbeitung tut sich leichter, wenn es Kategorien gibt. Ein gutes Beispiel dafür ist Charles Jencks der den Begriff der „Postmoderne“ Mitte der 70-er Jahre auf die Architektur übertrug, später mit Phillip Johnson und seiner Ausstellung den Begriff der „Deconstructivist architecture“ prägte und vor ein paar Jahren in einem Vortrag von der neuen Architekturströmung der „bubbles“ sprach.

A new apartment-house has been built for Hunguest Hotels in Hajdúszoboszló, Hungary. The former backyard office building of the Hotel**** Béke has been transformed to a 4stars guesthouse. We have extended it with an extra floor on the top of the old ruin and added a new stair, elevator and corridors on the north side.

Elkészült az új apartmanház a Hunguest Hotels számára Hajdúszoboszlón. A Hotel Béke egykori irodaépületét 4 csillagos vendégházzá alakítottuk át. Egy új szinttel bővítettük a régi rom zárófödémét, az északi oldalon új lépcsőt, liftet és folyosókat terveztünk. F.Á.

F.Á:  gibt es sowas, wie retouschieren oder ist es strengst verboten?

Paul Ott: ja, die hat es aber auch schon zu analogen zeiten gegeben.  die grenzen ziehe ich aber relativ schnell, retuschen bedeuten ja auch nur kleinere ausbesserungen oder die entfernung von schmutz usw, fotomontagen welche die grenzen zur realität aufheben mache ich nicht.

F.Á:  gibt es architekten, die ihrer meinung nach vertvolle architektur machen in österreich, die aber momentan (noch) nicht so bekannt sind?

Paul Ott:  mit sicherheit, überregionale bekanntheit hängt  auch mit regelmäßigen publikationen in  internationalen fachzeitschriften zusammen

F.Á: haben sie aehnlich wie die schauspieler die oft rollentraum haben, einen projekttraum? 

Paul Ott:  zeitliche und auch finanzielle unabhänigkeit sowie die freiheit ausschließlich für sich selbst zu fotografieren, ja

F.Á: Létezik még retusálás vagy az szigorúan tilos?

Paul Ott: Igen, ez már az analóg-korszakban is létezett. A határokat azonban viszonylag gyorsan meghúzom: retusálásnak számítanak a kisebb javítások, a kosz eltávolítása stb., de olyan fotómontázsokat nem készítek, melyeknek a valóság semmi közük.

F.Á:  Vannak olyan építszek véleménye szerint, akik jó építészetet csinálnak Ausztriában, azonban jelenleg(még) nem annyira ismertek?

Paul Ott:  Igen, a regionális ismertségen túlmutató ismertség a a nemzetközi szaklapokban való rendszeres megjelenéstől is függ.

F.Á: Van a színészek szerepálmához hasonlóan projekt-álma?

Paul Ott:  Időbeli és anyagi függetlenség és a szabadság, hogy kizárólag a magam örömére fotózhassak.
